Are your children fond of stargazing in the evenings? Build the night sky together in the daylight hours. Many of my talented blogging friends participated in the creative challenge, putting together ideas for night sky crafts. There are moons and stars, planets and rockets, telescopes and even aliens. Below you will find all of their ideas, as well as some other related crafts.

Night Sky DIY Crafts: Moon, Planets of the Solar System, Galaxies and Distant Stars for Toddlers and Children

First of all, I would like to congratulate three of participants who are going to get a set of space-themed shadow puppets. We liked all of the ideas very much, but we could not resist edible glow-in-the-dark stars from Fun at Home with Kids. I bet taking a bath with them is magic! A recyclable rocket from Left Brain Craft Brain is an impressive, yet simple toy that I would like to make for Budster. And I would never guess that mirror painting could be so beautiful if it was not for the art piece from In the Playroom.

Looming in the dark, the moon attracts children’s attention and fill their minds with random questions. No wonder there are so many myths and legends, involving the moon! When my son was one, he discovered the moon as well, and ever since it is one of his favourite things in the world.

Do your children know their address? If they want to learn their address in space, a good place to start is the solar system. These crafts can give them an idea of where the place of our planet in the solar system, how big the other planets are compared to the Earth, as well as how they look close by.

Constellations form the map of the night sky. Learning them is as exciting as finding your way around a new place. As a child, I was always eager to look for the Big Dipper, and its constant presence at the sky made me feel good at night. Make the constellations with these crafts:
