Different recycling programs usually have different rules and exceptions, and simply teaching kids to recycle plastic, paper and glass doesn’t work. For example, broken glass should still go in the garbage, and not all the plastics are recyclable. Old-style light bulbs go in the garbage, but fluorescent light bulbs should be disposed of as hazardous materials. And while it is practice that makes perfect, sitting down and playing this sorting game may be a good idea to introduce your kids to the idea behind recycling programs and to see how well they understand the intricacies of garbage disposal.
